spectral classification system of OBAFGKM.

Here is a sentence I read in a newspaper the other
day that matches OBAFGKM. It was an ad concerning
an apartment house that had recently been remodeled.

Mr. Gleason is spot on when it comes to equinoxes, but he neglects to mention that poetry is in fact read at the Southworth Planetarium during the winter. Watch this space for news of the "Solstice Dawning" Celestial Poetry Evening scheduled for December!

Very good comment.
You are correct.
I should have said that the astrological zodiac does not take precession into account.
Thank you for taking the time to write this comment.
I shall be more cautious about my phrasing in future.

Cheers! :-)

"Since astrology assumes these stations are fixed, the sign times measured during astrology’s inception are treated as valid today."

I work with astronomy software and I get lots of phone calls from astrologers looking for something they can use to make charts. I no longer argue that these people are ignorant of the motions of the sky. They know about precession and take it into account, they know that retrograde motion is a trick of perspective, and they know that the Sun spends some time in Ophiuchus.

Of course, this doesn't make their theory (that the motions of objects in the sky affect our destinies, personalities, relationships, etc.) any more plausible. But you can't rely on everyone who believes in astrology being ignorant of astronomy by definition.
